Dear Teachers,

“How am I going to get my older pupils with lower reading abilitys engaged in books, when there just isn’t enough content out there that suits their interest levels?”

This was the conversation that inspired Story Scribbler - how do we support students who can’t access age-appropriate reading material?

To solve this problem we need three things:

Age-appropriate topics - older students with lower reading abilities won't find a love for reading if they're stuck with stories intended for much younger children.

Stories that meet students at their current reading ability - a book written specifically for a child should be readable by them, using language that fits their curriculum.

Fresh stories to keep them engaged - students benefit from reading diverse stories with new language, both as a way to keep them engaged and to develop their skills, requiring a large volume of books over their reading journey.

This is why I built Story Scribbler - as a way for teachers to write stories that inspire a love of reading in their students.
