Sharing your stories

We want to make it easy for teachers to share stories with their students, so we’ve built a completely customisable e-reader right into Story Scribbler. To go even further, we’ve also made it simple to share a story with anyone using just a link.

Public stories don’t require the user to be logged in to be read, so you don’t need to mess around with passwords and logins - just send the link to your iPad (or other reading device of choice) and get reading immediately.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to share your story, complete with your customised font and text size, with anyone using just a link.

Getting started

First, let’s start in the reader view. This page is great for previewing your story, and for sharing it with your readers.

To control the visibility of your story, click the “sharing” button on the menu bar. From this popup menu, click the “private” button to toggle your project visibility to public! A copyable link will also appear, which you can share with anyone. This link includes information about your preferred font and text size, which will be used by default whenever someone visits the e-reader using your link, but they’ll also be able to update these settings to their own preferences without needing a new link.

If you want to make a story private again, just toggle the visibility back to private - only you can see your story when it’s private, but anyone with the link can read it when it’s public, so keep this in mind!
